ramp too steep?

That ramp is *not* too steep. Mine is a *lot* steeper and it's a ladder, not solid like yours. They use their wings if they need to to get 'up' on things or to assist themselves walking up things. No need to worry. These birds survived long before us humans were making ramps at all for them.

I had a ladder for my 12 week olds on their 30" roost probably that steep , some used it some just flew up on it. Then they all started to fly on to it so i just took it out, no need for it, they will figure out. Chickens are not dumb.

I have use a old conveyer belt I got from work.

Totally agree with everyone else! I was worried my minimalist chicken coop ramp would be too steep, but after a little enticing, our girls use it just fine. We actually wrote a blog post about how it's been working out.

This is dangerous, the chicken wire on ramp for grip is likely to cause feet injuries...
.....and it will gather poops that you won't be able to scrape off.
Just because it 'seems' to work ok, doesn't mean it's a good thing to do.
