Ramp up or down?

Well, the girls are in their big girl house (chicken tractor) and they seem to like it. They go up and down the ramp whenever they want, they go in when it rains, and they take naps in the coop. They will get on the roost in the run but not in the coop, LOL. I figure that's just a matter of time. I hope :)

My real question is whether or not I need to be putting the ramp up at night? I have been putting it up after they go to bed, and letting it back down when I get up (at 0430, even before the chickens do!). This morning someone was asleep in the pulled-up ladder and when I let it down, she sort of rolled down the ramp and staggered around. Do I need to pull it up at night? Should I pull it up? I know when we go camping for the weekend I'll have to leave it down....

Any suggestions appreciated.

Don't know, but had to laugh when you said she rolled out

Hopefully someone else has an idea for you.

If the run is secure, with coon proof wire and a skirt then leave it down. I've seen the style of tractor you have and the only time the ramp was raised was to lock the birds in while the tractor was being moved, to prevent injury to the chickens by being ran over/crushed
