This reminded me of something that happened many years ago. I rented (sight unseen) a trailor in a different town. it belonged to family. They told me that the renters had skipped out a week or so earlier and they weren't sure what condition it was in, but that it was available. I was desperate, so took it. We arrived on a Sunday afternoon. the first thing I saw was a chicken coop & run. There were chickens in the chicken coop! Apparently the old renters had left them behind.
(at least a week!)
I immediately hollered for my children to find some water and I started digging through the packed boxes for something to feed them. The first thing I found was a box of popcorn. The electricity had already been turned on in the trailor, so I unpacked my microwave and popped popcorn for the chickens. Those were the most grateful chickens I had ever seen!!
It probably wasn't very nutritious... but they were hungry!
I kept those chickens... they were my first ever chickens. I also became a regular at the local feed store. My father-in-law told me months later those were some of the fattest chickens he'd ever seen.
Anyway.. I said all that to say that I don't think a couple days without feed is going to really do permanent harm to the chickens. The chickens will probably really enjoy the free ranging, and the canned fruit, veggies and anything else the poster can find to feed the chickens is definitely better than nothing! I'm not sure how old the OP (babychick) is... sounds like maybe a teenager girl? (could be wrong.) I'm not sure advising her to "walk" to town might be the best advice we can give her. The scrambled eggs was a great suggestion, as was free-ranging her chickens. Bet if she searched her pantry, she'd find lots of things she could feed them
