Random blue egg?!?!

Hey guys! My coturnix quail laid a non speckled light blue egg!!! We have had them for almost a month now and constantly getting standard speckled eggs. I went out the other night and their lays a perfectly light blue egg. I would Not believee it if it didnt happen to me. Is this just a fluke or does this happen sometimes? I know their is a breeder who has blue speckled eggs but have never seen any like this! I just had to share! Kind of hard to see in the pics but i tried lol

You'll get a lot of sources saying that once a hen lays blue eggs she will lay them forever, but I know if at least three people including myself who have gotten random blue/white patterned ones from an otherwise normal laying hen

I got this like five days ago. It wasn't viable looking, but I also squished it and had to take it out

Yup, I get those pretty little blue eggs sometimes too! Also if you get a speckled egg that has just been laid and scrub it the "paint" comes off and you will see it looks like that underneath! That is why sometimes I've heard of scams where people are selling blue quail eggs to hatch but really they are just washed regular ones...

That is terrible! I did find out about a celadon mutation that breeds real blue eggs. I woul like to find some!
