Random Crested Duck Question

I don't mind her since I don't have to hear her. She doesn't seem distressed, this is just what she does. She hangs with the flock and does normal flock things. She seems normal in every way, just loud so very, very loud. CBD oil is readily available here.

Oh my gosh this places is crazy this time of year Buffs quacking up a storm geese screaming chickens singing the egg song all day long . It’s a good thing I don’t have close neighbors. Only my Muscovys are quiet:)

They are sweet ducks. It’s a wonder they don’t ask for ear plugs with the noise going on out side these days. My Runners aren’t too bad as far as noise but my 2 Buffs make up for it. They are such a hoot. I would love to see some pics of your Runners and Hookbills @ConnieA

Now y’all hame worried about my plan to Order and pick up from Ideal next year. How many crested did you wind up with @WannaBeHillBilly ?
I ordered five Magpies, three have no crest at all, one has a tiny little bit of frizzy feathers at the back of her head and one has a ping-pong ball sized crest at the left side of her head. Not too bad, but i am not too happy about it.

Not a magpies but one of my Buffs. The magpies seem regular loud to me. This duck has a creast on top and one at her ear hole as well. That's why I wondered about her hearing. She drowns out the gander even. My house is about 100 meters from their coop but I can hear her.
Interesting! None of my Buffies has a crest and they are really quiet, calm, enjoyable ducks. They are the only ducks i can pet without "murder" screams. I can briefly touch the White Layers if i cover my hands in duck-crack but the Magpies won't even eat that out of my hands.
I guess Ideal hasn't managed to stabilize their breeding lines yet.

I just got the one and this is my second round with Ideal. Never had one before. I would still use them because
1) they are driving distance, even closer to you
2) the ducks are nice. Although they don't have golden 300s which I miss having
3) They have Magpies!
4) Their ducks are smaller and grow slower. Produce smaller eggs but no leg problems.

What @WannaBeHillBilly said about the White Tanks is fun because it mirrors my experience. I miss my white tanks but I couldn't tell them apart so I named them the triplets.
That's why all members of my "panzer brigade" still have their colored zip-ties on. - Not that there's any difference between a white duck and another white duck… Even the little black spot on "spot's" head has disappeared.

What about Hemp seed oil? It’s used for anxiety wont make them high because it doesn’t have THC in it. I give it to my happy Dachshunds daily and it works. I buy mine on Amazon. It’s not the CBD but it is pure hemp therapeutic grade oil. Just a thought?
Won't that end up in the eggs? - I doubt that you eat your Dachshund's eggs? :lau

I have call ducks, and the girls are easily the loudest despite being the smallest (my other current ducks are runners and hookbills).
The quietest ducks I ever had were Muscovies. They were the best parents, too.
That's why i don't want call ducks! Ii is not only the volume, but also the pitch of their voices, although they are so cute!
Where did you get Dutch Hookbills? - That's one of the breeds i want to have in the foreseeable future.
