I just found out my girls have been laying in my basement windows. I found 2 nests hidden in the leaves. I have no idea how long they have been there. Should I throw the eggs away? or would they still be good to eat? We have had under 65 temps for a couple weeks now.

You can use the float test. Stick them in a cup of water. If the egg sinks, its safe to eat. If it floats, it isn't. Eggs can last a long time, and with the cool temperatures, most will probably still be ok, depending on how long ago they were laid.

Like Hanna said, float them to see if they're fresh. I have a great pic I found ages ago that is a pretty good reference for this:

Also, when in doubt, crack the egg into a separate container before mixing it with your recipe. This is generally a good idea anyway, since you never know until you crack that egg open what is actually inside of it.
