Random Pics of My Lil Flock

I might have a solution for your fertilized egg eating problem, you can create a bachelor flock and then if you want to breed them you can put the roosters that you want to breed with your hens with them and not eat eggs then because you already had plenty

There are probably flaws in this plan, but I wanted to be part of this thread
I have had a long conversation over many days with a monk who explained that my Karma is unharmed by the egg issue. He explained that the fertilization does not always lead to a hatching. Domesticated chickens lay eggs every day, not with the intent to hatch them all, but because humans have bred them to. He also pointed out that every egg laid is not fertilized. He asked my purpose for having chickens and eating their eggs. He asked me if I could reconcile eating a few eggs that might be fertilized with the idea of letting their eggs go to waste, which is what would happen if I didn't collect or eat their eggs. Given those things, I have decided that eating their eggs is Karmically ok. I check to see if they are fertilized when I break them. I have yet to see one. I may have overlooked it, or my roo may be unable to fertilize the big girls' eggs. Either way, I am at peace.

Yeah my father is the person who is like if you don't need em eat em

When my previous flock got to old and dropped in egg production he said he was going to kill them for meat. Is it better that the coyotes got to them first. Although they did leave behind the body of our Welsummer cockerel which we ate.
