how u holding up?
Sometimes I pretend life is good. Sometimes I am able to not think of the things that plague me and feel "normal-ish" again...sometimes...but not a lot. Only in snipits of the day.
Feeling normal-ish means not noticing that gut wrenching pain in one's stomach.
It means not feeling your heart sunk to the pit of your stomach.
It means not being anxious about the future.
It means having moments of clear thought.
It means enjoying time with your children.
It means having hope that things will get better.
Here's to all of you out there that stumble across this and praying you too can have moments of "normal-ish."
Now go hug a chicken. Well, that's not really normal-ish according to the majority of society. And no, i'm not talking about byc society...i'm talking about the other ones out there, who do not own or wish to own...chickans.

no...just scared me for a minute before I heard the noise again. I couldn't tell what it was at first...and it's all dark out there and i'm all alone and this window is open so i started freaking out looking out it and thinking...what would happen if somebodies face appeared in it? so i got up and summoned the dogs and went to the door and turned the lights on and then i heard pop, pop, pop, pop...and realized it was firecrackers and not someone walking on my gravel drive with big heavy boots on.

There were re-re's around me shooting off fireworks in august and I'm thinking when did fieworks become a year round thing? September fireworks is odd... Get those non raccoon killing dogs to snuggle up with you and try to feel as normal as possible anyway...

one of my neighbor dad's pelted me with a pellet gun pellet one day, when i asked him not to have his kids and the neighborhood gang use my yard as their play area...my dog was on his chain and wrapped around a pole so tight, he had no slack. My chickens were freaked. And my 2 lil girls started crying because they see people bigger than mommy, guys wearing masks and holding guns when we pulled in one day.
They didn't even flinch. I thought they'd run off once i pulled in but they didn't. So i got out and said, you boys are trespassing...so then they left.
There were so many lime green pellets on dudes deck and lawn...i should have snuck back there and took them and made him some lime jello packed with floating pellets and left it on his stoop to find in the morning.
