my 3 year old quail died randomly not hurt or anything died sleeping?

What species of quail? What were you feeding? What were it's living conditions? Was it a single or do you have more birds?

We had 3 quail in a very nice coop, fed them game bird crumbles and it was about 65 degrees and when it is very cold we bring them into the garage with a heater

What species of quail?....Coturnix, Bobwhite, California Valley quail, etc? Coturnix don't have as long a life span as other species of quail, due to year round breeding/laying.

What percent protein was the gamebird crumbles? Did you feed them treats, such as mealworms, BOSS, other seeds?

It is a little too young to be dying due to age, unless it had fatty liver disease? or some other respiratory disease?
Just trying to figure it out by asking all the questions.

It uses to kind of click it’s tongue sometimes.. maybe that was respiratory? I’m not sure I got them from my cousin who raises courtnix quail for meat and I got them as pets. I also used to give them meal worms every once in a while so they could get some protein

If it was a 3 year old coturnix, it may have died of old age.
