Ok, so I have a pair of Cayuga ducks and a pair of Saxony ducks.

The male Cayuga wants to mate with the female Saxony and the male Saxony wants to mate with the female Cayuga.

If the male Saxony tries to mate with the female Cayuga.. the male Cayuga attacks the Saxony as if to say ''She is mine!!! but he rarely bothers with her!
It's really odd.. I have had to seperate them in their pairs and they are fine like that. They will mate once or twice a day but definitely arn't over doing it.. thank goodness!

Does anyone else find this?? Very strange!

How long has everyone been together? That sounds like fairly normal behavior for a possessive drake.

They have been together about 6 months.. throughout the winter. Now their hormones are all over the place.. I have seperated them.

I don't understand why they want the other female and not their own partner? Haha
