Randy japanese male quail

We have a randy male quail and he is just harassing my girls. We originally had 1 male and 4 girls. We woke up to some baby chicks in August and they lived in the avairy for a week but we had to removed and put under a heat lamp when mummy got sick of looking after them. Now we reintroduced them and Randy Andy is chasing 1 in particular (a pure white girl). She is getting stressed from running away and she has a cut above her beak from flying into the wire. I keep putting randy in a time out for a day but he goes right back to his old trucks! Any tips please??

Yes, its very late and dark now. I'll post some tomorrow.

If she is the only white one, she may get picked on. I have noticed that they tend to pick on one if it's different from the rest.

Your setup looks very nice. It looks like there are hiding places so she can run away.

The next thing to try would be to remove Randy Andy for a day or two and see if he's better behaved after a bit of isolation.

I would add a few more hiding spots and move the feeders/waterers away from each other. Put them at opposite ends instead of all in the middle.


I only see one hiding spot/box. Do you have a dollar store near by?
Or cardboard boxes to cut up?
