Rangers not ranging much?

Mine hatched 7/15 and they are free ranging, along with broilers that were hatched 7/12. When I got the broilers I got 2 other chicks that were a week old and put them in with they and everyone goes out I feed mine in the evening around 6:30. and thats what they get for the rest of the night and into the next day. I make sure they have plenty of water and shade.

The heat here has been wicked. Mine are 9 weeks and between their weight and the heat they aren't ranging much either.

Another thing that can encourage foraging is to scatter feed on the ground. Our Rangers pick up every crumble they can find and it got them used to going into the grass and eating there.
