RANT about bad owners! >:(

perhaps they only give measured amounts of food?
or they have found a buyer for the bird and don't have food out because she is going to a new home today.
Maybe you can't see it behind that barrel thing.

When you don't have the slightest idea what you are talking about, it is a good idea to MYOB.

All roosters have spurs. Rooster crowing is not a bad thing. They are supposed to crow.

There are 1001 reasons to separate some birds and a horse stall is a great big suitable area and the photo even shows a clean pen.

Birds do not need food in front of them 24 hours a day. Hey, maybe the birds were without food because they were about to be slaughtered. Or do you consider eating chickens as animal abuse, too?

If I caught you snooping around in closed areas of my barn (breaking and entering, trespassing, looking suspiciously like you are planning to steal something, which, incidentally, you are) I'd kick you off my property so fast the scenery would be a blur and you would not be back, not ever. I am not fighting chickens, nor are my birds abused. I just don't like snoops and thieves.

Seriously, you are making an enormous fuss about nothing at all and making yourself look like one of those idiotic control freak humaniacs. If you want to sniff out chicken abuse, I suggest that you learn something about poultry care before you start making trouble for people you don't know anything about.

its not like the property is private, they are renting from someone. And did you see the water? Even if they WERE to slaughter that would mean that they would still have water. And btw, my friend told the owner and they got caught so I was right and all the animals were taken away. Im not crazy. It's not like I go around and try to find people doing bad things to there animals. I was just excited to hear a rooster so I was wondering what breeds they were. Then once I got in, I realized that it wasn't what I thought it would be. But yeah, the people are gone, and the animals are gone. So now hopefully someone will give them a good home.

if you are renting from someone, the property is still private. If your friend is renting a stall from them, then they have rights to enter common areas, like the tack room, but not any where else.

I'm glad that someone called the authorities and they came to check it out. We're all just pointing out that the things posted weren't glaring signs of fighting or abuse.

Rental property is still private property. Even if your friend rents the stall, the area the chickens were in was still someone else's property. You were treading on dangerous ground, and returning to take more pics would have been more so.

The animals could have been moved for any number of reasons. You have been advised to call authorities if you suspect abuse or birds being fought, and that is good advice. And keep in mind, some awful things have happened to people who simply hadn't done their chores for the day yet.
