SSS that will ure your problems. And then send the dog to the pound.

Maybe you can catch, train and keep the dog. If you can teach it not to chase your birds (not very easy w/ a hunter) it would be a good protector (any critters that would eat your birds that live in the ground would be no more)
Since teaching it not to go after your birds might not be so easy...I say catch and call a Doxie rescue...there are a lot of people that would love a Doxie to take care of. I have to ask if it is Piebald (white w/ patches)? If it is...I will drive from TX to come get if you catch it!! LOL

We had one...great dog, but his nose would get him in so much trouble!!

Catch the dog and take it to the shelter, preferably after hours if yours has an after hours drop off kennel like ours does so you don't have to answer any questions. If it doesn't, take it there and claim it was a stray. Around here, Doxies get adopted fast so if your shelter is anything like ours, the chance of it being put to sleep are low if it has a nice personality.

Just thought I'd add this so you know how he was raised. The same time Billy (neighbor) was telling hubby about the dog, he told my hubby his dad (who used to live there) was going to have a garden this year. Hubby said "really? Where he lives?". Billy said "no right there", and points to our garden. Now it's really not on our land, it's 1/2 acre on hubby's gm's property. When Billy's dad used to live there, he was allowed a small patch to garden. Hubby had the neighbor turn the ground and he's been tilling on it for a while to get it ready. Hubby said well if he wants to garden here he can have a patch that hasn't been worked. Billy said "that's not fair".

I mean the guy doesn't even live over here, and doesn't have any right to garden, and he thinks he's going to get a spot that my hubby's been working on. He also thought he was going to come over this last fall and just go hunting back behind our house. His dad stole our eggs when we had chickens in the past. It drives me . I just want to

people like that.

Ok, the dog is in the kennel. I noticed the neighbor was home and his back door was open. I looked out and it was in the kennel chasing my chickens. I ran out and slammed the door real fast. The hardest part was going in a letting my chickens out without letting the dog out. Then I got the dog some water. I'm curious how long the dog will be in the kennel before he realizes the dog is gone.

Sounds like these people are idiots. Can you try to be trashy, annoying, etc and convince them they want to move out!! Or is it not possible to be trashier than they are??
