I hate my rooster. I have 3 and the two are sweethearts. This guy is new and he drives me insane. My other rooster crows a few times a day tops, the other crows 20 times a day or so. This one (his name is Marsala) crows 20 times a minute. We let everyone free range in the after noon and they all go back at night, except Marsala. We chase him everywhere all over the woods, fields and hills and we finally leave him all night. And of course we can't catch him the next morning, so he ranges all the time 24/7 because no one can catch him. All the lady hens hate him. He despises humans, but hasn't attacked us - yet. So here is my list:

    Marsala Pros: [IMG]
-He is a handsome white rooster

    Marsala Cons: [IMG]
-He hates humans and cannot be touched let alone held
-He refuses to be locked up with other chickens and free ranges constanly around the house
-If he is locked up, will escape 98% of the time
-The other hens and roosters despise him
-His crowing is harmful to my health

And on top of it, my mom thinks he is handsome and will not let us kill/get rid of him. [IMG]
    Sorry, just a vent. [IMG]

  2. Poor you [IMG]

I had that problem before with my California White but Mom understood after we started coming in the house with cuts on us [IMG]

I would get rid of him...

The Cons outweight the Pros...Marsala needs to just disappear

[IMG] he wouldn't go in again tonight. [IMG] Maybe a predator will just eat him so I don't have anything to do with it. [IMG]
