Here's another. Grandpa died in January 2003. When I went to buy my house in VA in April 2006, I HAD to pay off one of his medical bills before my mortgage company would give me the money. Apparently because his mail always came too my house, one bill got put in my name so it was on my credit report as an unpaid balance.

I tried to explain it to them but finally just ended up paying it cause it was easier than arguing....

I get letters with my health insurance bill that start with this statement: "If you cannot read this please call...."

And don't get me started on the people at Social Security! Oh what I went through with them when my MIL passed away! It seems that this country is quickly rising to a new level of DUMB!
It's true, it seems there are so few that can, or want to, listen, think or use common sense.

When I do encounter somebody who is truely helpful, using their head and seems to care about how they do their job, I make sure to tell them I appreciate their help.

OH!

WHen we went to cancel my Mom's AOL account, the phone guy said that the account holder is the only one who could cancel the account.

Me: "Well, she's dead"
AOL guy: "I am sorry, that's our policy"
Me: "But she is a box of ashes"
AOL guy: "I'm sorry, no one but the account holder can make account changes"
Me: "Ok, I will send her to you, but you have to promise to send her back. We will weigh the urn to make sure you didn't keep any of her"
AOL guy: "You mean she's DEAD????
Me: "DINGDINGDINGDING"
AOL guy: "Well, we will go ahead and make the change this once."
Me :"Thanks, you won't be bothered with this again, I promise."

LOL, no, I really was mad at the time, but I figure if you can't see the humor, life gets dull.
