I haven't read the link nor have I really listened to the story, but from what the first poster said this IS crazy! Something is wrong there.

The article clearly states that the woman lives with her parents and has SIX other children. As a reproductive physiologist, I know it is impossible to naturally ovulate 8 eggs and next to impossible to have a single ova cleave four times to make 8 embryos, so I am making an educated assumption that the mother was on fertility drugs.

I just hope that with 14 children she has a lot of patience, help, and a strong faith! I will pray that she can raise those kids up to be good people. It is a huge task!
 
I have to agree- if you already have that many kids, 2 being a set of twins, there was NO reason for her to implant 8 embryos (or more) for this pregnancy. The doctor should be looked into that approved this, as well as the people who paid for it (being if it was government subsidized). Maybe she's going for a world record in number of children in a family? And think of all the media hype- heck the Duggers (sp?) and Kate+8 people are making BIG money on their HUGE families. What if she's doing it all for the media money?! This would be their "way out" of their 2 bedroom home subdivision. Just sad.

Not for me, but then again when I was told I couldnt have a child without "help" ie fertility drugs. I was happy to not have any.
The "powers that be" will and all that.
I guess those powers meant for me to have the one we were given and we are happy with that.

Be kind of confusing wouldn't it. Might have a lot more names for God, Can you imagine Mary saying "Come here Jesus, God, Lord Almighty, and which one are you? Oh yes Jesus (prounounce Ha Suess), etc...."

My DIL has worked at a fertility clinic the last several years. There are many tests that they go through to make sure that this does not happen whether they are using AI or in vitro. Allowing this to happen is not in the best interest of either the mother or the babies.
