Rant

When I was about 10 my mom had a lung collapse. She spent 3 maybe 4 days in the hospital. My stepdad didn't once try and get a sitter so he could visit her. He made me cook a can of chili con carne which I thought was soup and added a can of water to it. I think we had sandwhices or cereal. He would not cook and he would not get take out. My mom got out of the hospital 3 days before Thanksgiving. That year the plan was to have the dinner at our house. That so and so didn't call his family and say sorry but we can't do it this year and he didn't lift a finger to help. My mom was so looped on pain meds she put ice cream in the oven. My stepdad wasn't clueless he was just a complete jerk.

My ex would do that - ask what was for dinner, and he'd get my stock answer - hot nothing. Current New and Improved Hubby would run to the store and buy me some chicken soup. There's a reason why they're ex's!
