ranting about terrible neighbors.

Sorry if I missed this in the original story but did the neighbor shoot the dog on purpose? We have a pretty similar setup where my dog wanders and there are lots of gunshots. If she wandered somewhere and got shot I would assume she was not on our property, up to no good, or was in the wrong place at the wrong time (ie mistaken for something else). We have had random dogs show up and lurk around our property that we have had to frighten off with a warning shot. Did the neighbor explain his part of the story?

Edit to say my dog wanders in the morning for about 15 minutes. Not all day. And very rarely does she leave our property-I know this because I see where she comes from when I call her in and I check with the neighbors often. If she does get caught wandering too far afield she gets tied out when I can’t be out with her.

I have, he rips it off with ease even if its tight enough before the point of choking
Instead of just tieing the e collar around his neck, loop it around each front leg in addition to the neck. When I did vet tech work, this is how we kept stubborn dogs and cats in their e-collars.

This is of a cat, but diagram still applies.

I believe he did shoot porky on purpose.

His side of the story needs a little bit of context which I will explain.

We have a few people around, miles away, who live in shacks and tend to illegally enter others properties and camp. The dudes have camped up on our mountain, and tried so shoot my brother [ authorities have been called several times in this manner-- police have still done nothing ]

He said that he thought porky was one of their dogs, which is hard to believe since porky is dark and striped- like plott hound are- and the men have smaller white dogs.

Alright, I'll try that ! Porky is pretty petty, we'll see how he reacts lol
