We ordered our meat chickens from McMurray about 10 weeks ago and with the order they threw in a rare and exotic chick. He/She is thriving but I'd really love to know what it is we have. I have scoured every resource I can find and haven't found the exact match yet. Anyone able to help me out? Thanks!

    It's an Easter Egger chicken.

I'm on the fence as far as gender though.

Easter Egger ~ McMurray calls them "Araucanas/Americanas". She will lay a "colored egg". If you are lucky it will be blue or green ~ although some will lay a shade of brown instead. Brown is a color! [IMG]

She is a very pretty girl!

Thanks everyone for the quick replies! My kids are running around the house screaming with excitement. They just watched our meat chickens go off to be processed tonight and were a bit down. Now they're excited about the possibility of eggs....colored ones at that. Yep, we're newbies and I'm completely addicted to these critters.
