Rare and Exotic but WHAT is it?

Definately Easter Egger, but I'm going to say roo. That color is often a roo, I think I see saddle feathers and the start of sickle feathers. If you had a picture of the base of the tail, that would really help.

EE with a nice dark beard/muff- I have one exactly that color- but without the beard

Easter egger pullet...I have one who looks just like her. Def NOT a roo, so no worries.

She is pretty. It seems that every "rare and exotic" chick that they send out is an EE, yours is the first I've seen that is a pullet.

It is hen. I have one that looks just like her. EE's seem to like breaking the rules when it comes to standard sex traits. My girl's tail is very "rooey", she has hackles, and even little saddle feathers. I had a hard time believing other BYCers when they said "pullet". She is 7 months old now and just laid her first egg.....a pretty green one at that.

Looks like an easter egger. Expect lovely blueish green eggs. They are not exotic or rare. If you want a rare breed that is similar, get an auracana. We have a beautiful white one named Pearl. She is kinda nearsighted though

She gives us a round blue egg everyday! Ameraucanas are similar but more common. We have a grey one named Dusty. Here are pics of both:

EE pullet. (Rare and exotic in the fact that she's a girl and EE pullets with that coloring are not too common.) Looks nearly identical to my girl Iris.

its rare or exotic for them to just give away a pullet like that though you got lucky as most people get cockerels
