Spot's a pretty cool rooster. He picks on the hens some, but he's only about a month or two shy of breeding age and I hope it's just confused breeding instinct. He has a nice sounding crow and is quite proud of it. They've never been in the house. I started them in a brooder cage outside. Now the Sussex and Spot stay in the yard with the big coop and the Orpingtons and Crow stay in a tractor that I move daily. ...building another tractor now, planning to separate the Sussex hens & roosters into tractors and put the little ones in the yard with the big house. My dogs used to have inside/outside privileges, but since I got into chicken raising the dogs stay outside 95% of the time. I need them to stay on guard and keep predators at bay!
