Rare phase Appleyard, or what duck is this???

Anyone here an expert on duck genetics? I have a juvenile silver appleyard who started true as a duckling, but is getting very dark. It also has a slate grey beak. Do I have a rare phase appleyard?? What's up with this colouration?

It looks like it's wildtype dark phase mallard instead of light phase mallard like an appleyard should be. Do you have pictures of the parents?

Agreed, pics of the parents? Are you 100% sure its purebred?
