It's a cross I'm thinking..Oh well it's Hen I guess?I've had appleyards before hence my confusion! I didn't think twice about this duck really, until chocolate brown came in suddenly and quacks started. I also have a female khaki Campbell duckling about the same age, and it looks and sounds closer to her...so I did think Welsh, but pattern is off and quacks now. 0_o Was a bright yellow duckling with distinct markings, and now is that awkward quacker.
Yep..I'm sure it will be a beautiful Duck..I thought drake too until I got surprised by the sudden change to a loud quack. My rouen the same age is definitely a drake, raspy and peepy. This was whoopee cushion loud!
I suspect it is a cross of some type then...the head shape is a bit unique, and it has a good bit of campbell colour. A bit more of a heavier duck though. It's been driving me mad since I heard a quack, and I'm interested to see what the adult will look like!
Both apple yards and 300s have the mohawk.. The only way to tell them apart is by the color of their legs, 300s will have all black legs meanwhile appleyards should have yellow/orange with a little bit of black on them.Could it be a Golden 300 hybrid? Several of the pictures of the ducklings appear to have the Mohawk. If you got her at Tractor Supply that could be what she is.
