Hello! Would/could rats kill a month and a half old chick? I thought I finally had a rooster jr, but when I went out today, I found him killed outside of their little coop, in the run, very near a hole that rats have dug to get in and eat their food. Can I pin the blame on the rats or should I be looking fro someone else?
Coop info:
Grow-out coop is inside of a 10x10x6 dog kennel that is inside of a 50x50 run that has an electric fence around the outside and a net on top. I have had raccoons and mink family critters get in before and get my birds, but only when the electric fence had not yet been installed or when it had been turned off and we didn't realize it.
