Wow that's a stunning bird! Maybe Karen will mature to look more like that haha, he was born in July....I know the chances are slim but we can dreamHis color could be cleaner, but Karen is still a looker.
Im not a shower or a pro breeder, just a hobby breeder and fan.View attachment 2507990
Nobody on here uses my actual name, im just Chicky.![]()
Thank you! Does my rooster have 5 or 6? Not sure if I count the little mini ones in front and back heheThe little fingers coming off the comb.![]()

Wow those are very different from him! He doesn't have the brown on his hackles at all. But it looks like he is maybe decently there on some aspects, so I might try to find a really nice hen and breed him. He was born in July so might mature a bit, but his colors are definitely more muddy and patterns aren't all correct. But it's SO helpful to have a picture to look at. The stand of perfection drawings aren't always the best for comparing to real life. Thank you!He is very handsome.
Have a look at this link for comparison: https://www.lachshuhnzucht-herne.com/fotos/hühner/lachshühner/
Awesome, thank you. At the county fair I'm not sure they'd even consider it unless it was a close call for Best of Show. Most of the time it's like 'is your chicken parasite infested, covered in mud, squirrel tail, bald spots or has a crest when it shouldn't?" if no, you get a blue ribbon lol. I've won best of show and many, many best in class with birds from McMurray hatchery which I know some say aren't the best. But I still want to learn about the comb thing for my own understandingTechnically I count nine or ten. I'll let Chicky weigh in. I haven't ever shown mine so maybe I'm counting things I shouldn't.

Did you get yours from a small breeder? Karen is from a hatchery so I know not the best but he looks like the Walmart version of your bird and that's pretty good considering haha!
