10! How old is your turkey bubbles? I just got a jake (the dude I posted a pic of) and am wondering when he's gonna get the floppy snood and huge wattle :-D

madampoofybrow: he is actually my neighbor's turkey, but he comes over alot, he was hatched in spring around april or may, she got her turkeys at around the same time i got my now-pullets. (she actually started with 10 turkeys but now only has 2!)
turkeys are auful cute as little ones.

The breeder said my jake is five months old...I really think he's younger. They didn't seem very educated...said he was a royal palm, and he's a penciled palm. He wasn't living in good conditions, either

Does this face look five months old? He is gobbling...but I don't know when they start doing that

one source said 5-6 months for gobbling,I am really not a turkey expert, what breed is he?
maybe someone else will chime in....
the pic looks younger than 5 months, i agree with you on that, unless he just looks diffierent because he isn't mad in that pic...
my neighbor's turkey must be around 5-6 months and is much more mature looking then that, but than again those pics were taken when he was mad. he seems to be mad all the time .

He is a penciled palm. He is super chill and I've not seen him mad yet, I got him Monday. He's pretty big, but I don't have another turkey to compare him to. If I can catch him mad, I'll try and get a pic ;-)

If it's 5 months old I bet it's a girl. It looks a bit like my 5ish month old girl

I would say girl but he gobbles his little head off, and from what I understand girls can't gobble. He's probably just younger.
