Rathdrum Idaho chicken ordinance failed

So, unfortunately.....the ordinance allowing chickens in Rathdrum failed. BUT, there were many chicken supporters there who want to bring it back up at the next city council meeting. Our next step is for someone else to go before the council. Now the work begins with petitions and such.

My girls are devastated....me, I'm ready to move out of Rathdrum.

Well that bites a big toe... I wonder if they realize that by turning it down they may lose a citizen?

OH, now there's a thought. Get local businesses on your side. Town might be able to afford to lose one (or a handful) of measly citizens... someone else will move in and pay taxes. But losing a business means losing jobs AND tax income too. If you've got any friends with their own business, or the other pro chicken folks do maybe try there?? At the least you should be able to get the feed store on your side. It's a thought anyways.
