Rats, rats EVERYWHERE! ☹️

What kind of poison did you use? I guess I could lock the cats up for a while and warn the neighbors not to let their dogs come up here.
Every kind I could find. 4 or 5 different brands. Rats may not like one kind or another too much and they will figure it out over time.
I had a problem and wasn't gonna pussy foot around. I baited heavy. I put out a ton. I wanted every rat to get a chance of eating some the first few days before they started dropping and others figuring it out.
After I ran out which was about a week I switched to different brand and one with a different look.
Repeated until I noticed not much was being eaten and then ive just maintained with bait stations. I still switch up brands a couple times a year.
I unlike others have stated did find plenty of dead rats in various locations. I rounded up all i found and burned them.

I have the worst luck with trapping anything so I’ll probably be in the same boat as you were. My feedstore has something called “justonebite” and I looked it up and it seems to be a good one.

If you really want to, get bait boxes and don't use poison, use a box of mashed potatoes that is instant. Don't add water and just put the dehydrated powder in the bait boxes. When they eat the powder, it mixes with the water in there gut and expands. That should kill them and if something eats the rat it won't harm them.
None of that $h!t works.

While others have said not to, and I, myself am wary about it it- I think I’ll try poison (bar form rather than pellet) first. I just want something quick. They’ve been here waaay too long. I suppose since it’s getting colder it seems a lot worse than before.

You could maybe try both. The trap and the poison.

Okay okay so when I put poison out- does chicken food (and I guess water) need to be taken away at night still?

ETA- I know certain poisons require the rats to drink something in order for it to work.
