Rats!

I have 2 hens a 3 chicks in an enclosed coop. 3 nights ago, major screeching and flapping from there. Ran down, but didn't see anything.

Fast forward to last night, installed camera to see what was going on. Rats!!! 4 of them. Now I think I know what happened to my 3 missing chicks/eggs last week.

I watched to see where they came in and left and the tiny hole has been plugged.

We live in rural Hawaii, so rats are gonna happen, but darnit, they are bigger than my silkies!

Setting out some stairways to heaven tonight to see if I can catch them. I know more will be back eventually, but I won't these gone!

Rats, mice and rodents in general can be real issues with poultry. I've had to deal with mice on occasion, but I've never had to deal with rats. (Knock on Wood)
