Early this morning our chickens began to alert to some kind of danger. My wife and I went out to check. We thought it was another hawk alert but everything seemed OK there. Then my wife looked into the chicken nest boxes and saw this four-foot long snake curled up in one of the nest boxes, looking for an egg to eat! I caught it and released it into a nearly field. It looks like an Eastern Ratsnake. Do you agree?
From now on I had better check the nest boxes each morning!
