Woke up this morning to feathers all over the yard....coyotes got my Tom turkey and hen, and all the eggs, because they weren't cooped, great.

Go in the coop to check on the chickies and one of my polish chickens came nuzzling against me, her eyes are all swollen and it looks like she got bit by a snake (we have a wonderful rattlesnake population here, and it isn't the first time a chickadee has got bit). fabulous.

Go to water my rose bushes, and they are all dug up, with hoofprints all around. thank you wild pigs.

So bad luck comes in 3's right? it should be all over with now right ? Right? RIGHT? arrrggghhh!!!!

Looks like we will be sitting out with a shotgun tonight.....oh well bacon and a fur coat aren't too bad, jk

Oh my is right! I'm so sorry to hear about your trials and tribulations from one night - and I sincerely hope that that is your "3". So can you treat the hen with the snakebite and if so, how?

You forgot to mention the snakeskin belt/boots/bag to go with your fur coat.

I dont think you can, the last time a chicken got bit, we sectioned her off and she was back to herself in a few days. My chicky is already looking better she can sorta open one eye now.

haha about the purse, we just shot one last wk to, scared the beejeebers outta me because it was right under my van and I was about to load up all my littles. My cat was staring it down though and got it to rattling so I knew it was there before something really bad happened. My kitty has thus earned an even more special place in my heart after that lol.

Hope its true bad things come in threes . You don't need any more bad things happening. Hope you chickie is ok

Btw you might want to watch and wait so you can have some pork the pigs are really good in a smoker makes em taste great.

I'm so sorry for you and your chickens but your title made me laugh because I was just thinking the same thing the other day only fox, coon and hawks, oh my. There is always another predator out there I guess.

the polish chicky is all better! woohoo!! took her a few days, and at one point her beak had goop coming out too, but she is OK now, alert, eating, and drinking, and no more goopy eyes, I am sooooooo thankful, those are my favorite little chickies
