My pullets act as if they aren't getting enough food. I fill 2 feeders with food and then in the afternoon I throw them treats like corn flakes or cooked rice....but they still act like it's not enough, for instance the moment I come out the back door they rush to see if I have more food. There's 12 pullets together(9 wks.-15 wks.) I don't think cows and horses eat as much as they do!
Is this normal?? Or should I just set 50 lbs. of feed in there coop and let 'em go for it!
they're stomachs walking around supported by two legs, I tell ya...
Mine always come running as quickly as possible just in case I might happen to have something yummy when I come out the door. Piglets in feather cases....
Have you recently dewormed your flock, just in case? Ours acted like that and turned out they had roundworms. We gave them DE(Diatomaceous Earth) and now there's sometimes leftover food in the feeder. But they still always race each other to the feeder!
