raw green beans

Hmmm...mine don't want anything to do with greenbeans, cooked or raw

I feed them green beans. This is the treat ball I just packed for them and will hang in the coop. Spinach, strawberries, and green beans. They love it and picking it all out of the ball, hung just over their heads, keeps them busy inside on a chilly and soon to be snowy day.

I just looked it up. Raw beans contain lectin, green ones less than dried ones but it is a toxin. Also kidney beans have the most so just make sure they’re well cooked. I’ve nibbled on green beans from the garden for years too but it’s not so appealing anymore!

Mine have had them both ways, but greatly prefer them cooked and cut into a size they can eat. Raw and whole they're just too hard without teeth or hands.
