Here I go again; third time's the charm, right? We "rebuilt" our 'bator-installed the metal thingy around the thermostat as per WindyOaksYokes-(THANK YOU & your husband so much for your post about your experience-my husband understood your husband's explanations perfectly! he was an electrician in the AF)

Anyway, temps are now perfectly stable.

So. eggs due tomorrow or Thurs. I'm setting up cartons tonight.

Question: do you cut holes in the bottoms of the cartons where the eggs rest?

I've seen it done both ways researching it here. I "think" cutting the holes in the bottoms of the cartons would allow better airflow around the eggs & therefore, would be better, but I don't know for sure.

Anybody had any experience or opinions on this?
Thank you in advance for any advice-

I'm not sure how much it helps, but I cut holes in the bottom. Either way I don't think you will be disappointed with the method. I am currently hatching tonight already have got one blue jersey giant out of the shell! Hopefully I will post pics here in the next couple of days. I cut a small hole in the bottom on these.
