RE: First Born Silkie died

Well I had one silkie born last night, a black one, the color I wanted, and he/she passed away during the night. It seemed very healthy last night. I have no other pips, but today is the 21st day, so I am hoping I will have lots of pips by this afternoon and get some more black ones. I feel terrible.

Wow, That is a shame, did you leave it in the incubator or did you remove it to the brooder. Just second guessing here. was the temperature ok in the brooder? How about the incubator. If the one hatched early it could be the temp is a bit high there. Let us know how the rest of the hatch is doing. Sorry about your black chick.
