Hi all our wonderful members and visitors! Recently there have been some questions regarding the moderation of this forum. I'd suggest everyone re-read the very first post in this thread .
Pay specific attention to the parts about our love for this community. We desire to keep BYC healthy and thriving for every one of our super diverse 60,000 members.
There are only two topics that we don't allow discussion on: "P E T A" discussions and "Cock Fighting". There are many other topics we discourage because they almost always tend to elicit very strong and personal feelings that often erupt into very passionate posts that are usually misinterpreted and then spiral into trolling and flaming (intentional or not). Some of these topics include religion, sexual preference, politics, etc.
BYC, and it's Staff do NOT take official positions on any of these topics. We simply do our best to create an atmosphere where our community can discuss the proper care of raising chickens while also enjoying the great social side of interacting with people that share a similar interest.
We will, at our discretion and based on many years of experience managing this community, remove posts or threads that we feel are not promoting a better environment for our site visitors. This is NOT because of the subject / topic of the discussion, but is based on the way the topic is discussed (tone, description, etc.). There also may be cases where members are unable to censor themselves or stop themselves from trolling / flaming others publicly and we'll moderate them (warnings, probations and as a last resort, banning).
We love BYC and appreciate all our members that work hard to be friendly and respectful of others beliefs and views.
