Re-introducing myself

Seems we have a wee tad in common. I just started around 6 months back, currently 52 chickens, 11 goats, 6 ducks and five turkey. Looking at 13 turkey eggs now and 20 newly born chickens. Responding to your post as maintenance to the farm and my 7 buildings in all was considered before I even started. Just saying that if one is going to build, think 50 years as far as strength of said structure when erecting it. I will probably be long gone before I need to fix a thang....cheers. IMHO

Welcome back!!
With that many animals, it will be full time job caring for them all.
Sorry to read about your rooster who lost an eye and the hen with bumble foot. I've not had bumble foot in my flock yet but it seems to take a lot of work to clear the infection.
Can you train your peafowl to go into a secure enclosure at night?
Good luck.

Thanks!!
I looked at the bumble foot posts, and I don’t think that’s what she has going on. It was more like an infected scab on her upper leg. I’ve flushed the wound, sprayed it with Blu-kote and re-wrapped it, she is acting normal other than avoiding too much weight on it. I have high hopes.

I thought we had trained her to go into an enclosure at night. I have a sneaking suspicion that it was a human error... which is why I’m taking over the full time position.
