My name is LuAnn. New to chickens...as an adult. Had them growing up and if my mom couldnt find me...she knew I was in the coop. LOL. I JUST purchased 6 chicks: 4 Blue Sapphire Plymouth Rocks and 2 Easter Eggers. Waiting for 2 Black SexLink, 2 Welsummer, and 2 Speckled Sussex to be hatched in about 3 weeks. I love that chickens have personalities and cant wait to teach my daughter the pleasures of raising chickens and gathering eggs. Im an RN and love knitting, gardening and anything outdoors...barefoot. LOL. I am married with 7 children, 12 grandchildren and found Backyard Chickens through my oldest daughter, who was researching chicken/duck ownership. My first foray in BYC was to research the momma hesting pad. The chicks have been home 2 hours...and seem to love it! So happy to have all of you "elders" as a resource here!
