I have no problem with any aspects of farming. I slaughter birds, hogs, scoop poop and am even starting a worm farm, but I have to tell ya I saw video of how this happens in some hatcheries on You Tube and its disturbing. Its very disturbing to see them alive stacked by the thosands in garbage bags still chirping. I think this is something that needs to be regulated. Its my understanding there are laws in place in the UK, they have to be humanely euthanized, but I don't know of any here. I'm not going to post links to the videos I've seen here, because it would be disturbing for some of the younger folks that are here, but you can look them up if you want to.
I don't know that there is a solution for the neccesity of having to destroy these birds, but I am a strong believer of quality of life for farm animals, regardless of their age, or purpose.
