Read this! You kids will not be able to work on your farm anymore!!

Listen, I don't really care WHY this proposed regulation was stopped, or WHO stopped it. I'm just glad that it's fini for now. I can't stand Obama and don't much care for his twin Mitt. I think we need to put a hard rein on ALL of these a-holes. As it is now, there are entirely too many people, spending WAY too much time and collecting WAY too much money, to dream up "stuff" (which is the polite word for CRAP). Probably the most effective way to get government out of the minutiae of our lives would be to first do away with 95% of the various "Departments" and "Bureaus" and "Czars", and then severely restrict the amount of time that Congress is allowed to meet... I think two months out of each year is PLENTY (and their pay gets docked for whatever time Congress is in session and they're not there). And how about restrictions on bills coming out of Congress... there needs to be a REASONABLE limit on how many pages, in 12 point type and double-spaced, a single bill can be (I like 100 pages myself, I think that's PLENTY long enough to cover any subject and would actually be readable. Bills that are mutiple thousands of pages long are BS). Oh yeah, we need to STOP giving these people life-long pensions and benefits.... MOST of us commoners aren't going to get a pension, instead we'll have to rely on 401k's or other savings. Does anyone stop to wonder just WHY somebody would spend thousands and millions of dollars trying to get elected to public office??????????

This is a misinformation campaign, folks. And it looks like a lot of you fell for it. Please do better research before you start spreading these and scare people.

Thou shalt not bear false witness.

Looked like the bill was to help migrant children. The rules would still restrict others. My brother would not be able to help with the livestock auctions because he is under 16. It would still hurt family farms if the farms are not owned by the parents.

The Daily Kos.... what an impartial "news" source"

That link has BO all over it , hardly neutral.

Fact is they got caught trying to pull a fast one on a minority group. They are after the latino vote and it backfired.

READ CAREFULLY, try to pick out the SUBJECT...... "The Daily Kos.... what an impartial "news" source"

Somehow it's not too hard to pick you out as a Kos reader.

Really? You don't know me from Adam or what my beliefs are. The KOS story rips the people who opposed this regulation. I was asking who was "bearing false witness" the people opposing the bill or the KOS reporting on those people.

As far as my personal beliefs go, you couldn't be further from the truth if you tried.

The link offered the Department of Labor page, as well as others. I want to point out the original post came from a VERY political website, as well.

If you'd rather believe the propaganda b.s. then by all means, be fooled. Read the bill, that is the only truth worth calling the truth. All else is political machinations. And sadly, pathetically, look how many people are falling for that. This is an election year people and the millionaires are moving the electorate to their will by buying air time, marketing their lies and putting out this kind of ridiculousness.

Maybe you've all been lucky enough that your children and families haven't lost a loved one to a farm accident. Lucky, lucky you. God bless your family and keep them safe. Not all of us have been so lucky. We lost a baby cousin riding on his grandfather's lap who fell under the blades of a plow when it bumped around a corner. He'd plowed with a baby on his knee a hundred times before, but this time, his arm wasn't as strong as it used to be. Christ forgive him, because those parents never will. Decades before, my great-uncle lost his arm when he was ten using a farming machine he really had no business using, but times were tough in the Depression and that's what families did - they put everyone to work. Ruined him for life. Standard family farm practices in the day and to this day. That's the sort of thing this bill was trying to do good work for.
