Well my eggs are done turning and here's my setup for lockdown! It's pretty complicated and I still need to fit a sponge in there when hatching time comes.

Im kind of jealous of those beautiful eggs... I like the speckles and different shades. All I have are white ones and tiny cream colored bantam eggs. But I guess I'm just think mine are boring ones because I see them every day.
apparently I was off on my hatch day or something me and dh walked into bedroom and I heard chirping and thought that's weird the chicks in the brooder are usually quiet so I turned around to go check on them and noticed a chick in the incubator there is another one hatching and at least one more pip!
Do you guys measure just air temps or temps against the shell? I'm worried - I turned my air temp down to 96-97 to keep my eggs from overheating. I know it's normal for the eggs to produce heat the last week, but if I don't turn the heat down the eggs were measuring near 102. Yikes. (Forced air so target is 99.5-100). Do any of you have your thermometers actually touching the eggs?
I'm dealing with this too. I was having to keep it at 101 to keep the water wiggler temp at 99.5, but now it's set at 99.5 and the water wiggler temp is 100.2! I'm going to leave it unless it gets higher than 100.5.
I'm going to trust the water wiggler temp. My air temp was reading like 94 yesterday too and it was stressing me out, but I decided to trust the water wiggler temp.
