Ready Set Hatch! Set 3/17 Hatch 4/7 - ready now! Hatch-Along

Hahahaha

Thanks for the kind words. I get excited very easy, but I have to try think along those lines to calm myself down, or I would have a pillow in the office. It started this time last hatch when I was confused about the day count. I posted a thread about it asking for some clarity and someone with much experience said something along the lines of "stick the the range and it will be fine, might be early, some are late be patient" or something like that. Got me thinking about how it happens in nature and that slowed me down a bit when it cam to worrying about 0.5 degree fluctuations.

About to do our final candle of the Part 1, then move them over. FINALLY I get to touch them again hahahaha

Me too - like about the thermometer placement - I want all my little eggs to be happy(I know, hahaha - I laugh at myself too) but they can't all be exactly the perfect temp. I'm sure I'll have early and late hatches, probably slowed them down having it running so cool all day/night yesterday while I resolved my panic - erring on the side of caution with temp.
Love the pic! Will show to Kendahl (DD) when she gets home.

400

I had one hatch last night to make #4 one almost out this morning and another pip IM pretty sure at least one of the welsummers is a pullet

Lol Is it a possum? Do you even get possums over there?

Got some claws on it for sure!

Our transfer is done, went to check on the 'stats' half hour later and one of the Barnevelder's (#8) was having a good old wiggle! Always good to see that movement!

Back to waiting....and stooping over the windows.

6 more hours til my kids get home. I need to wait til then to start the next phase as I promised my daughter she could help candle one last time. She's a good little record keeper. My 8yr old son - no interest. He sat through a couple eggs on day 7 and left. He says he wants chicks not warm eggs.

I was about to post these in my other thread...but since you asked so nice!

Our last hatch vid, captured the first one, turned out to be a female RIR called Rosie.

Here is the same chicks nearly 5 weeks later.

and our next 7 in line!

My daughter had back surgery last week so I'm driving about 50 miles to her house to help her out with the kids, appointments and housework. whew. so time is scarce and a couple of days the eggs only got turned once in 24 hrs. Hoping that didn't hurt anything, temp and humidity have been holding pretty steady. When I get home Fri night I"m going to candle one more time and sort the ones due this weekend into the hatching baskets. Due on Sun.
