The eggs and I talked about it (LOL) and decided on Sunday. It is so tempting but I probably wouldn't see anything anyway so may as well wait til day 7. I'm really anxious to try my new "Candler". I've tired of candling refrigerator eggs...:/

Thanks for the invite! We just set 80 eggs on Sunday! We have barred rocks, EE, black gaint, silkies, seramas! Fixen to set more this Sunday in another bator, more silkies, seramas, turkeys, black&blue copper meran, black asterlops! ( sorry for the spelling)

well not much to report; discovered it doesn't take but a minute or two to roll over all 74 eggs on the tray. I calibrated my thermometer to a better model and it's probably been running a degree hot so that explains the first batch of ducks hatching 3 days early I think. Have been trying to keep it down to actual temp of 99, but I notice as the water pan dries up and the humidity goes down the temp seems to creep up a bit.

I want to candle eggs, and I actually checked a couple duck eggs last night, they were starting to vein. But I think I am going to have to order a stronger light to candle the blue and darker brown eggs., I don't think my little flashlight is going to cut it.

I haven't candled these yet but I just picked up an old slide projector to use. Last batch I used a flashlight but since I have marans in there this time I needed something brighter. I should be able to post pictures Sunday. They'll be on day 7 so should show some veining for sure. Hmmm...taking pictures will involve either one of the kids either holding the eggs or using my phone to take the pictures...or growing an extra arm. Hoping that extra arm grows quick

Mary- I noticed that with my other incubator that when the humidity decreased, the temp crept up too. It looks like I may not need to add water to mine until lockdown so I'm hoping it doesn't affect my temp stability when I do.

Thanks!!! It's my husbands fav! And I have been promising it for a few days now so since it is snowing like crazy!!! It's a perfect time to bake ! ESP since I am trying to keep myself occupied
