I need your expert help!
I have 7 chicks, mixed breeds, different ages. I've been putting them outside in their own run inside the main chicken area, so the older chooks could get used to them. Today, I let the two older ones (australorp and SL wyandotte) join the big girls. They are both 12 weeks tomorrow. It went GREAT!!! Maybe a peck from my EE here and there, but they did just fine.
My question is... Does that mean they are ready to spend their first night out in the coop with the rest??

My next question is... It's going to drop all the way down to 25F tonight. Is that too cold for the chicks? They are fully feathered at this point.

Thank you so much!!!!

Congratulations on integration done right! Makes it so much easier on everybody. They are likely to squabble more when the youngsters first start being in the coop at night. I know my older birds are always very territiorial about their coop at first but things settle down pretty quick.

At 12 weeks your youngsters should be fine in the coop even in the colder temps.
