Ready to lay??

Only got my first girls in July so still on my steep learning curve

I have a cuckoo Maran whi has not yet started to lay. Her comb is getting nice and red so I assume she's not far off laying her first.

Question I have is - for the last week she has been sitting in the nest box for one or two hours at a stretch. If you disturb her she'll just get off and not come back in again. I have never noticed any of my other girls doing this prior to coming into lay (my experince is limited to the 6 girls I have in lay) Is this ok, should I be worried?

I found several of my girls trying out nest boxes before they started laying. I really wouldn't worry too much as long as she seems healthy.
