To take better conformation photos, you want to see the whole body of the bird. You want to see how the bird stands naturally, in essence, the "make-up" of the bird.

This can be done by simply taking photos out in the yard, in a specialized area, but generally, birds "calm" or can even panic when their owner is holding them. This makes their conformation out of line and can make them look like a badly conformed bird.

The specific reason I couldn't see your birds conformation was because it was being held by the kiddo. The hugging is cute and sweet, but you just can't see what the bird looks like in it's natural posture.

What about my other Buffs that I entered in the same post? The two hens? You could see their full body, and they were in the yard. How could you not see their conformation in those photos? Sorry if I seem rude, but I am just trying to understand why you placed my birds whee you did and why you could not see their body conformation.

The Snyders

OK. FourSnyders, after looking through the SOP, here are the reasons I've come up with specifically why your birds will not be considered for the Champion LF or for the overall champion.

On the drake, he has a bluish-gray head and neck which is undesirable.
On the front hen, I'm not sure if it's a mistake of the camera, but it looks as though she has bluish-gray band of feathers which is also undesirable.
The furthest hen, I cannot see her legs or bottom part of her body, but she also has white feathers in her wing.

The SOP is confusing in this area, because it lists the bluish-gray as both a defect AND a disqualification.

Alrighty, I am going to announce Champion Largefowl and I will explain my reasoning on it.

The Reserve Champion Largefowl is greenfamilyfarms black Cochin cockerel:

Reasons:
1.I can see open air between the cockerel's legs. The female has better leg feathering in my opinion, but she also has some hard feathers close to her cushion. (I'd like to see more cushion on her, but the male has excellent cushion)

Champion Largefowl goes to Mrs. Turbo Silver-Laced Wyandotte Pullet #2:

I am PMing specific people to see if I can't get more photos of specific bantam birds.

You all have beautiful birds and Congrats to the winner's!!
