and I am looking another job and have an interview on Teusday in the Psycology/Neuroscience Dept w/ the University. I have been with the same MD for a little more than 5 yrs and he has for the most part been a great boss, but last week I took heat for something he should have taken care of before it reached the CEO and Chancellor's ofc. He also believed the Clinical trial coord that I have been taking excessive lunches ( I barely have time to take 30 mins) and I talk to much to my DH. It took everything I had not to blow my top. I have been with him for 5 yrs and have covered his rear end and pulled his fat out of the fire more times than one and have kept more than a few complaints from getting to our Chief. He hurt me more than anything beliving her lies about my lunch breaks.
I think I am burned out also from trying to keep patients who think that they are entitled happy and just everything else that goes along with patient care.
I use BYC during the day to keep me sane. I can only deal with sickness for so long.
I just needed to vent. Keep good thoughts and prayers for me with this interview.

Good luck with the interview. I know what you mean about a mean boss. I had worked my way up from a bookseller to area manger with 7 stores years ago. I moved to a base store in N. Miami and right from the minute I walked in the store the manger of the store we rented space from called me into a meeting. He told me he didn't like me wasn't going to like me and if I had a problem with it he could make sure I was banned from his store. Now my department was in the rear of the store and I had to walk on his floor to get there! I told him i have no idea what his problem was but he could talk to my boss because I was done talking to him. This man once cussed me out in the middle of a open store in front of customers. I was so embarrassed and told my boss if she didn't take care of it I was calling the CEO of the company and so was a few customers who saw and heard him that day. After that the man hardly spoke to me and after 4 years I quit when my company was bought out. I found out he ran most of the former mangers of my dept. off the same way he tried to run me off. I just refused to be bullied by him.

It is a very stressful time of the year. Not only for employees but also for employers or bosses. We all sometimes make a poor judgement call but soon realize our mistakes, and pending what kind of person it is... rectify it..

I do hope the sun shine for you in the morning!

before you leave cover all your bases CYA I quit a job last Feb. where I was told by District manager "that does not sound like sexual harrassmnet to me deal with it or you will be demoted at which I went to my purse took my store key and gave it to him in a room full of clients told him he may need to read up on Federal Sexual Harrassment laws. I left him high and dry during tax rush however I did have the owner of the franchise and his daughter's email address before I left and I emailed them about this also the area manager ignoring complaints about the same person from Clients. about 2 months ago my x area manager calls to see if I wanted to go back to work for them hah! I was tempted as money is tight with me not working however my hubbie said Nope not gonna happen (he knows how much I did for that company to be treated like that) I do have enough proof that the company is in disregard of federal law both sexual harrassment and Privacy laws with tax returns it is funny. I decided not to sue because I am a better person than that and did not want to give so much of my time to getting back at them however I still have the information in case I ever need it. I now do tax returns from hom work 1/2 the time that I was before and make twice as much. I specialize in trucker taxes as they are $$ to go out and get them done at most of the tax places and my hubbie is a mechanic for JB Hunt.

So just make sure you have all your ducks (or chicks ) in a row before you go and good luck in your new job even if the interview doen't work out do not be treated badly.

PS when you do turn in your resig make sure the MD knows about your greivances.

Good luck.

I would rather be my own boss and struggle to pay bills then to work for someone else and be financially secure but emotionally and physically drained.

I hope everything works out for you.

Today was my last day for a major retail grocery that I had been at for 5 years, I was loyal, hard working had friends etc, had work over 50-60 hours a week most weeks, and my boss was overbearing jealous, and self serving. I have a new job, with a better pay and benefits, I know EXACTLY how you feel and wish you all the best. It would be nice to be appreciated huh? Geez, what's wrong with employers today. I wish you all the best.
