First off, I'm using a hovabator 1583, the one with the wafer. It is the best bator in the world!! So I don't think it is that.
However, my quail eggs have been hatching since day before yesterday? They weren't due to hatch till today, but so far there are 30+ babies out! There also was a huge lull in hatching. I hadn't had any hatch yesterday after about 10am, and then overnight there were 18 more in the bator! I took the babies out earlier, and there is already another one hatched! Most of the hatched chicks are A&M's, but there are a few jumbos in there too. They weren't supposed to hatch till tonight.
Do A&M chicks hatch sooner than jumbo chicks?
After the first batch hatched, the humidity was really super high!! Even the ones that had already dried were wet again! I took out my sponges, and it went down to 70's. It had been 95%. Do you think this affected the other unhatched eggs? It wasn't that high for too long, but idk.
Also, there is one chick that was pipped when I moved them from the turner. It was the middle of day 15, and already there were a lot of pips, and 2 hatchlings! The one that was pipped (had a huge hole in the shell) had gotten stuck, so I decided to help it out. I guess from it struggling so much, its little legs are now messed up? Like it is laying flat on its belly with its legs stretched out behind it? Can I fix the legs, or should I just cull it?
