I'm really kind of ticked off right now. just spent half hour researching something trying to help somebody figure out what's going on with their flock from a Facebook post on the backyard chickens group.
One of the moderators turned off commenting for the post and told me not to recommend highland to a chicken owner because it has a lifetime withdrawal and is illegal?! I've seen it mentioned on here over and over again and I had success with my own birds so what's going on? I know Dawg is someone who suggests it and he has veterinary experience so I'm very confused and irritated. Someone done went and made the pregnant lady angry.

There's a local poultry business giving advice about off label use of antibiotics in poultry. They go to livestock auctions and do not quarantine their birds. After purchasing from them I ended up with an infected flock. I have contacted our local animal control and they refuse to act. Actually provided my personal information to the individuals in question. I have spent literally thousands on my chickens. And now because I trusted a business I'm going to have to cull aka KILL my entire flock or I have carriers that will affect other people if I decide to sell my birds as a breeder. This is a FDA violation and a federal offense. I am pregnant I have been eating eggs from the laying hens that have a lifetime withdrawal from this drug. When I contacted the business owner he gave me more about advice and told me to continue using the antibiotics that he told me to get. The ILLEGAL ones for cattle. Not poultry. I am highly ticked off right now and I don't know what type of lawyer to contact or if I have a case. How do I even begin to get help??
